Design Associate
Jerry Lemons is president and owner of Golf Links Inc. Mr. Lemons has been involved with golf course design and construction since
1982. A graduate of Murray State University, Jerry began his career working on the Kidwell - Hurdzan Designed course at Murray State
University as a golf course superintendent.
Jerry's first solo design came in 1984 when word of his talent reached Princeton
Country Club in Kentucky. Jerry's redesign of the Perry Maxwell layout was so successful that Old Hickory Country Club in Old
Hickory, Tennessee hired Jerry for the redesign. In 1985 Jerry formed Golf Links Inc. and since then has provided golf course design
services, construction management, turf grass management and business services to clients.
In over 25 years of design work, Jerry
still focuses not only on building quality golf courses for new courses but assisting past clients with the operations of their clubs.
Mr.
Lemons has contributed to numerous golf publications including Golf Course News, Golf Management and Executive Golfer and the
USGA Green Section.
Mr. Smith received his B.S. in Landscape Architecture with a focus on Urban Planning and Entrepreneurship
from Ball State University in 2012. While in college, Daniel worked in golf course construction, including a stint at Augusta National
for an outsourced golf course construction
company.
It is Smith's philosophy that a golf course should be designed with
sustainability
at the forefront. One major aspect of sustainability is
lowering maintenance needs in order to keep cost down over the long run. This
spurred Smith, immediately after graduation, to pursue a position as an assistant course superintendent where his goal was to learn
the ins and outs of the profession, and to learn to identify ways in which an architect can reduce hours in maintenance while still
producing an excellent course.
In the spring of 2013, Mr. Smith was hired by Golf Links Inc. to learn
under the direction of
established golf architect Jerry Lemon
